Gangtok, 19th September: Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang on Friday interacted with Rivek Raj Tamang, a young security researcher and ethical hacker from Sikkim, who has recently been honoured with two official Letters of Recognition from the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA).
Extending his congratulations, the Chief Minister said, “I extend my heartiest congratulations to him for this remarkable achievement, which reflects his exceptional skill and unwavering commitment as an independent security researcher.”
The recognition came after Rivek responsibly disclosed critical vulnerabilities under NASA’s Vulnerability Disclosure Policy (VDP), an accomplishment that Tamang described as “a matter of pride for our state, Sikkim.”

The Chief Minister also praised Rivek’s character, saying, “During our interaction, I was deeply impressed by his humility, dedication, and the clarity with which he shared his journey and aspirations.”
Calling his success “a shining example of individual brilliance,” Tamang noted that Rivek’s achievement will inspire many young minds in Sikkim to excel in science, technology, and innovation.
The Chief Minister wished Rivek continued success in his future endeavours and expressed confidence that his perseverance and talent would enable him to reach even greater heights on the global stage.
