Indra Hang Subba meets MoS Railways, discusses Sikkim railway connectivity

Gangtok, 21st September: Member of Parliament Dr. Indra Hang Subba met Minister of State for Railways Ravneet Singh Bittu in New Delhi today to discuss issues related to railway connectivity in Sikkim.

Dr. Subba highlighted the Final Location Survey (FLS) of the proposed Melli–Dentam railway link, which was sanctioned by the Ministry after his earlier request to Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw. He sought the intervention of the MoS Railways to expedite the completion of the survey, stressing its importance for accessibility and socio-economic development in the region.

He also reviewed the progress of the Sevoke–Rangpo railway line and discussed the upcoming first railway station of Sikkim at Rangpo. While the structural design of the station has already been finalised, Dr. Subba requested minor changes so that the station reflects the culture, traditions, and ethos of Sikkim.

In addition, Dr. Subba invited Ravneet Singh Bittu to visit Sikkim to personally review the progress and understand the aspirations of the people regarding railway connectivity.
